Buckeye Afterschool and Summer Excellence Conference

This conference is being hosted by Ten Speed Consulting, with support from Kidd Consulting Group, as well as a wide variety of local, state and national partners. Ten Speed Consulting is led by CEO and Principal Education Consultant, Nichelle Harris. 

A former kid in an Afterschool program, Nichelle has dedicated her career to the field of Afterschool and Summer Learning. Her deep understanding of the work and the needs of professionals comes from over 35 years of experience, a background in education, and a passion for supporting the field. Nichelle founded the conference as "Best Foot Forward" during her tenure as the Ohio Afterschool Network (OAN) Executive Director and she has continued to shape it as the conference coordinator for "Ignite, Inspire, and Innovate" almost every year since.

In addition to working with OAN, Ten Speed Consulting works with other small youth serving organizations and small non-profits, helping them with executive level coaching, strategic planning and providing educational opportunities. Clients include other Statewide Afterschool Networks, youth-serving organizations and community organizations.

Nichelle's experience isn't limited to OST; she had also planned educational events for a wide range of clients, from city mayors to CEOs, always with a focus on meticulous detail and professionalism. Nichelle's mission and ultimate goal is to build strong community and provide professionals with the resources they need. Her vision for this event is that the Afterschool and Summer Learning field in Ohio and is connected, well-supported and well-informed.
